Fourth of July Pictures

Hey guys! Finally got around to looking over the pictures we took on the Fourth of July and decided to share a few of my favorites with y'all. I had been scrolling through Pinterest on our road trip back from Kansas to Georgia and found a picture I thought would be fun to re-create. We stopped by a firework store in Tennessee and purchased a handful of red, white, and blue smoke bombs.

What we hoped would turn out like the Pinterest picture above, actually turned out not so cute, in the picture below lol. We would sit the smoke bombs down on the ground behind us, and they would fall over once we lit them. Before we knew it, we were surrounded in a cloud of colorful smoke. While my sister is yelling, "Smile! Hurry! Smile!", I'm yelling back, "I can't see! I'm blinded by the smoke!" The smoke bombs had a short 60 second burn time before they would run out.

Although our first few pictures turned out not so great, we finally got the hang of it.

Our secret? Hold the smoke bombs instead of sitting them down on the ground. Beware, the smoke bombs get warmer the longer they burn for, so be careful not to burn your hand!

We had so much fun using the sparklers to spell things out. Most websites will tell you to put your camera on shutter priority mode, which is the "TV" setting on your digital camera. I work with a Cannon Rebel Ti and used the following settings:

Don't forget to pin my Fourth of July picture taking tips for next year! ;)
