Lakers vs. Hawks Game

Friday we made the trip to Atlanta to watch Kobe Bryant play in his last season against against the Hawks. Zac has always followed the Lakers and it's been one of his dreams to see Kobe Bryant play live. He knew that with the announcement of Kobe Bryant's upcoming retirement, this would be our one and only chance to see him live.

We had such a hard time finding parking when we got into downtown Atlanta. Made matters worse when we pulled into a parking garage and they said cash only. We had to get out of line, drive until we found in ATM, and then get back into line. We ended up missing the first quarter of the game, but we made it in time to watch the last six minutes of the second quarter. Kobe was out of the game more than he was in, but when he did come in, everyone was cheering for him. We got there just in time to watch Kobe make a 3-point goal. The crowd went wild!

As the game was coming to an end, everyone got up and started chanting for Kobe. It was heart warming to see everyone cheering for him. To think he's been doing this for 20 years, wow.

After the game ended the crowd gave him a standing ovation. It was so cute to see how excited Zac was to see Kobe play. He had the biggest smile on his face!

It had been awhile since I'd been to a basketball game. It was a nice refresher of how fun they can be. The Hawks crew did a great job of keeping you entertained between the timeouts and intermissions. There was always something going on whether they were tossing t-shirts into the crowd, dropping chick-fil-a cows from the top of the stadium, the Hawks cheerleaders dancing, the hawk dancing, people making free throws, etc. It was a good time!

Do you ever go to basketball games? What did you do this weekend?

(I made a blogger fail today and accidentally cleared all comments ever made on my blog. Oopsy! Unfortunately, there's no undo button. Darn it. If I did't get back to you yet, so sorry!)
